Following her initial slasher roles, Zuniga moved into mainstream features. She co-starred in the 1985 drama Vision Quest and Rob Reiner's critically acclaimed The Sure Thing. Her most recognized cinematic work arrived in 1987 as Princess Vespa in Mel Brooks's Spaceballs, a role she is slated to reprise in the 2027 sequel. Her late-eighties filmography includes lead appearances in the horror sequel The Fly II and the drama Gross Anatomy.
