Foundations in Southampton
Born in 1981 in Southampton, David grew up in the Holyrood estate. His early exposure to music came through his father, George David, a bassist in the reggae band Ebony Rockers. During his teenage years, he frequented local dance clubs, where he developed skills as an MC and DJ. His formal education included attendance at Upper Shirley High School and Richard Taunton Sixth Form College.

Following his contributions to tracks like Something and What Ya Gonna Do for Artful Dodger, David signed with Wildstar Records. His debut studio album, Born to Do It, released in 2000, featured the UK chart-topping single Fill Me In. The project became a global success, selling over 8 million copies worldwide. In 2009, MTV viewers ranked the album as the second greatest of all time.
