Christian Dietrich Meier Zender launched his professional trajectory in 1987 as a keyboardist for the alternative-rock band Arena Hash. Over the subsequent three decades, the Lima-born performer expanded his reach from the Peruvian music scene into an extensive career spanning acting, film production, screenwriting, and commercial business ventures across the Spanish-speaking world and the United States.
Early Development and Music
Raised in Lima as the youngest of four siblings, Meier attended the Miraflores Maristas School before completing a degree in Graphic Design in early 1992. His initial public exposure arrived through the band Arena Hash, which he co-founded alongside Pedro Suárez Vértiz, Patricio Suárez Vértiz, and Arturo Pomar. Following the dissolution of the group, he transitioned into a solo recording career. His 1996 debut album, No Me Acuerdo Quién Fui, achieved double platinum status and yielded major radio hits including Carreteras Mojadas. Subsequent releases, such as 2002's Once Noches, further established his musical profile, often collaborating with producer Manuel Garrido-Lecca.

Beyond his musical output, Meier maintained a consistent presence in television and film, starring in numerous soap operas and feature films. His reach extended into the U.S. Hispanic market, solidifying his status as a recognizable figure in international Spanish-language media. His professional activities have also included appearances in television commercials and the management of a personal perfume line. In 2015, he received the Luces Award for his contributions to the arts.
Personal History
Meier is the son of Antonio Meier, a former mayor of the San Isidro district, and Gladys Zender, who held the title of Miss Universe in 1957. He married actress Marisol Aguirre in 1995 after their professional introduction on the set of the soap opera Gorrión. The couple separated in October 2007, with divorce proceedings concluding in November 2008. In July 2023, he married Andrea Bosio.
Recent Engagements
His creative output remains active, with recent studio albums including He Vuelto a Casa in 2023 and Así Es La Ley in 2026. His performance range also includes live engagements, such as serving as the opening act for Ed Sheeran during the Lima stop of the Loop Tour in May 2026.
