Early Development and Training
Born in Manila in 2000, Yulo began his training at age seven after his grandfather observed him tumbling at a local playground. He spent his formative years practicing at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and Club Gymnastica. His primary education took place at Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School, followed by secondary studies at Adamson University. In 2016, he accepted a scholarship from the Japan Olympic Association, leading to a move to Tokyo. He subsequently enrolled at Teikyo University, where he earned an associate degree in literature by 2022.

Yulo built his foundational skills through consistent domestic performance, first competing at the Palarong Pambansa in 2009. Over the following years, he secured multiple gold medals in individual all-around and apparatus events across various national meets. Under the guidance of coach Munehiro Kugimiya, he transitioned into the international junior circuit. By 2016, he earned five medals at the Pacific Rim Championships, overcoming challenges such as ankle and shoulder injuries to maintain his progression in technical difficulty.

The gymnast made his senior debut at the 2018 Melbourne World Cup. That same year, he reached the World Championships in Doha, where his floor exercise performance earned a bronze medal, marking a historic achievement for a Filipino gymnast.
