Carlos Salinas de Gortari

60th President of Mexico

Carlos Salinas de Gortari (born 1948) is the 60th President of Mexico. Salinas was born in Mexico City on 3 April 1948.

Salinas held office as President of Mexico (1988–1994), Mexico presidential candidate for the Revolutionary Institutional Party and minister. He worked in politician. He was attached to National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Salinas received Collar of the Order of Isabella the Catholic (1990), Francis Boyer Award (1994), Order of Belize, Order of Jamaica and Medal of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay (1993). He was educated at National Autonomous University of Mexico (licentiate), John F. Kennedy School of Government (master's degree) and Liceo Mexicano Japonés.

Salinas was the son of Raúl Salinas. He had one recorded child, Emiliano Salinas.
