Early Career and European Transition
Ideye began his domestic career with Bayelsa United before transferring to Ocean Boys, where he contributed to their 2006 Nigeria Premier League victory. In July 2011, Ideye signed a five-year agreement with Dynamo Kyiv, where he notably scored during Champions League qualifying rounds against Feyenoord and Borussia Mönchengladbach. By July 2014, he moved to the English Premier League with West Bromwich Albion for a reported fee of £10 million. His Premier League campaign included goals against Manchester City, Burnley, and Swansea City.
Success in Greece and International Play
Ideye joined Olympiacos in August 2015, helping the team secure the Greek domestic championship during the 2015-16 season. Internationally, he represented Nigeria at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. During the latter, he scored in the semi-final win against Mali and appeared in the final against Burkina Faso.
Later Career and Administrative Role
Following a period in the Chinese Super League with Tianjin Teda and a loan spell at Málaga, Ideye returned to Greece to play for Aris.
