In 1996, Gad acquired his brother’s portion of the enterprise. Following Gad’s death in 2000, ownership of the packaging conglomerate passed to Birgit Rausing and their three children. By 2010, the family held an estimated net worth of US$13 billion, marking her as one of the wealthiest individuals in Sweden according to Forbes.
Scholarly and Philanthropic Endeavors
Beyond her industrial interests, Rausing has maintained a career as an art historian and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities. She documented her family history in the 2008 publication 'Min far Henry Mayne'.
