His tenure as the Minister of Economy of Ukraine occurred between 2005 and 2006. In 2007, he served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, becoming the youngest person to hold that post in the nation's history. Later that year, he was elected Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, a position he maintained until 2008. Throughout these years, he was a member of the 6th, 7th, and 8th convocations of the parliament.
Prime Minister and Political Leadership
Yatseniuk assumed the role of Prime Minister of Ukraine in February 2014 following the removal of Viktor Yanukovych. During his premiership, which lasted until April 2016, he led a cabinet during a period of significant geopolitical instability. He was a prominent figure within the All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland party and later founded the People's Front party in September 2014. He was eventually succeeded as Prime Minister by Volodymyr Groysman.
Distinctions and Current Affiliations
His service has been recognized with the Medal For the Glory of Chernivtsi and three classes of the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, including the 4th and 5th classes. Beyond active government office, Yatseniuk is a diplomat holding the rank of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador.
