Aleksandar Kolarov transitioned from a left-back noted for his powerful long-range strikes to a professional coaching role following a career that spanned nearly two decades. Born in the Zemun municipality in 1985, he developed his skills within the Serbian league system before moving to Italy and England, where he accumulated multiple domestic honors across top-tier football competitions.
Early Development and Serbian Football
Kolarov grew up in the village of Vojka, beginning his football involvement with a local club. He joined the Red Star Belgrade youth academy in 1997, remaining there for four years before a brief period with Obilić. In 2004, he signed with Čukarički. Despite his 27 appearances, the team faced relegation, leading to his transfer to OFK Beograd in early 2006.

Manchester City Era
In July 2010, Kolarov moved to Manchester City for £16 million. During his seven-season tenure, he won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and one League Cup. He gained a reputation for dead-ball proficiency, scoring significant free kicks against Birmingham City, Sunderland, and Real Madrid. By the time he departed in 2017, he had become a mainstay of the team, contributing significantly to their 2013-14 title campaign.
