Fez-born goalkeeper Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti began his professional association football career in 2015, following his early development at the Mohammed VI Football Academy. Since entering the top flight of Moroccan football, he has secured multiple league titles and maintained a consistent presence both within domestic competitions and on the international stage with the Morocco national team.
Domestic Club Career
Tagnaouti played for RS Berkane between 2014 and 2017, accumulating 10 appearances before joining Wydad Athletic Club. During his tenure at Wydad, he became a fixture in the squad, making 183 appearances. His domestic success includes winning the Botola Pro league title with IR Tanger in the 2017–18 season. While at Wydad AC, he added further league championships to his record in 2016–17, 2018–19, 2020–21, and 2021–22. His performance in the 2018–19 season earned him the individual distinction of Botola Pro Best Goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper was part of the Morocco squad that won the 2018 African Nations Championship. His international tournament experience spans several FIFA World Cup cycles, including selections for the 2018 tournament in Russia, the 2022 competition in Qatar, and the 2026 event. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he was a member of the side that reached the semi-finals. Additionally, he participated in the 2019 and 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. In 2022, he received the title of Officer of the Order of the Throne.
Injury and Recent Performance
On 30 March 2023, while under contract with Wydad AC, Tagnaouti underwent a surgical procedure on his knee to address an injury that kept him sidelined for an extended period. Following his recovery, he continued his professional path, eventually joining AS FAR. During his time with AS FAR, he reached the CAF Champions League final in the 2025–26 season. Previously, he achieved individual recognition as the CAF Champions League Best Goalkeeper for the 2021–22 season.
