His administrative duties were extensive, including his leadership role as head of the Faculty of Science at Laval from 1940 to 1956. His contributions are currently preserved within the archives of the university, and a campus building carries his name to acknowledge his structural impact on the school.
National Recognition
The Canadian Mathematical Society benefited from his leadership while he held the position of president from 1949 to 1953. His work earned him several distinctions, including the Prix de la langue française in 1948 and the Acfas Urgel-Archambeault Award in 1955. Furthermore, he received honorary doctorates from the University of Poitiers and the University of Rennes in 1950, followed by an honorary doctorate from Laval University in 1963. In 1972, he was appointed as a Companion of the Order of Canada, the nation's highest civilian honor.
