Academic Foundation
Born in 1975 in Kingston, Canada, Logan attended the Lisgar Collegiate Institute. He earned recognition as a Putnam Fellow in 1992 and 1993. In 1995, he graduated at the top of his class from Princeton University with a degree in mathematics. He continued his studies at Harvard University, where he received his PhD in 1999.

Logan completed postdoctoral research at McGill University from 2002 to 2003. His professional experience includes a period working in England between 2003 and 2005. He later transitioned into the private sector, serving as a Quantitative Analyst at D. E. Shaw & Co. in New York City from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, he held a position at the Tutte Institute for Mathematics and Computing in Ottawa.

Logan entered his first Scrabble tournament in 1985 at the age of ten, placing fourth. Throughout his competitive career, he has played nearly 2,700 tournament games, achieving a 69.5% win rate and earning approximately $103,000 in prize money. He initially used the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary before transitioning to Collins Scrabble Words during his time in England.
