Abdullah Ibrahim Yahya Otayf began his professional career at Al-Shabab before expanding his playing experience in Portugal. Since his debut, the Riyadh-born midfielder has transitioned between several clubs in Saudi Arabia, most notably completing a decade-long tenure at Al-Hilal. He represents his country on the international stage, participating in both Asian and global football tournaments.
Early Career and Move to Portugal
Otayf started as an association football player at Al-Shabab. On 29 August 2012, he transitioned to European football by joining Louletano, a side competing in the Portuguese Second Division. During this stint, he gained experience before returning to his home country.

On 12 February 2013, he joined Al-Hilal. His time at the club saw multiple contract renewals, including an extension on 10 April 2018 that lasted through the 2020–21 season, followed by another two-season agreement on 11 December 2020. During his tenure, he secured numerous titles, such as the Saudi Professional League wins in 2016–17, 2017–18, 2019–20, 2020–21, and 2021–22. Additionally, he helped the club win the King Cup in 2015, 2017, 2019–20, and 2022–23, the Crown Prince Cup in 2015–16, the Saudi Super Cup in 2015, 2018, and 2021, and the AFC Champions League in 2019 and 2021. He eventually moved to Al-Ahli following the 2022–23 season, having signed a pre-contract agreement on 8 March 2023.
International Representation
Otayf represented Saudi Arabia at the 2011 U20 World Cup. He earned his senior team debut against Iran on 9 December 2012 during the 2012 WAFF Championship, a tournament where he was also named to the squad on 23 December 2013. He participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2019 AFC Asian Cup held in the United Arab Emirates. In 2019, he competed in the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup, where he received the tournament's most valuable player award. He was later selected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad.
