Abdul Sattar Edhi (1928–2016) was a Pakistani philanthropist, social activist, ascetic and humanitarian. He was born in Bantva on 28 February 1928. He died in Karachi on 8 July 2016, at the age of 88.
The honours on record include UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize (2009), Balzan Prize (2000), Lenin Peace Prize (1988), Ramon Magsaysay Award (1986) and honorary doctorate (2006).
