One night, live
The semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent are the point at which the show stops being an audition tape and becomes live television. Acts perform once, the phone lines open for a few minutes, and a percentage decides the rest. Hickinbottom sang in the third of those nights in 2010, aged ten, and took 6.2 per cent.
