In 2024 it drew 114 participants, scored separately for those under and over 18. The formats reward method and rehearsal rather than flashes of insight, which is why champions tend to repeat.
Beyond the junior division
In April 2024 World Mental Calculation published the results of the MSO Mental Calculations World Championship, an open competition, where the research record places Arora third, behind Kaloyan Geshev and Aaryan Shukla. A junior on the podium of an open championship is the clearest available measure of how strong the junior field has become; World Mental Calculation's 2024 report noted that several junior competitors were winning medals at adult level.
In 2026 he took silver in the under-20 division, according to the championship results published that September, ending the run of titles but keeping him among the best juniors in the world.
