Early Development and Harimau Muda
Wan Zack Haikal attended SMK Kuala Lanar, a project school for Pahang FA in Kuala Lipis. His early development included a successful stint with the Kuala Lumpur President Cup Team in 2005 where he emerged as the top scorer with 11 goals. By 2008, he joined Harimau Muda, working under K. Rajagopal and later Ong Kim Swee. During the 2009 season, the team secured the Premier League title. In 2011, Wan Zack joined the Slovak club FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce on a three-month loan. His tenure there was disrupted by a four-month injury sustained during national Olympic team duties, limiting his participation to a single unofficial friendly match. Following a trial in July 2012, he signed a two-year contract with the Japan Football League side FC Ryukyu in April 2013, alongside teammate Nazirul Naim Che Hashim. He marked his debut with a 2–1 victory against Sagawa Printing.
Domestic Career Path
Returning to Malaysia, he joined Kelantan FA in 2014, eventually playing 33 matches and scoring 4 goals across all competitions during the 2015 season. He moved to FELDA United in 2017, where he helped the squad win the 2018 Malaysia Premier League. Subsequent years saw him move to Selangor, where an anterior cruciate ligament injury sidelined him for an extended period, followed by stints at Perak, where he assisted in their 2022 promotion to the top flight, and briefly Penang in 2025 before returning to Perak in 2026.
National Team Representation
As a member of the Malaysia national team, Wan Zack participated in the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup. During the tournament, he provided a goal and an assist in a 4–1 win against Laos and contributed an assist against Indonesia. His performance in the latter match was cut short by injury, preventing his appearance in the subsequent semi-final matches against Thailand.
