His professional initiation began at his father's firm, Deichmann und vom Rath, located in Amsterdam. The industrial pursuits of vom Rath centered on the chemical sector. In 1890, he joined the supervisory board of the Farbwerke vorm. He ascended to the position of chairman in 1902. When the industrial conglomerate IG Farben formed in 1926, his expertise was utilized as he took on the role of first deputy chairman of the organization's supervisory board.
Political Engagement
Beyond the corporate sphere, vom Rath participated in the legislative processes of Prussia. Between 1894 and 1898, he served as a member of the Prussian House of Representatives. His political involvement continued with his appointment to the Prussian House of Lords, where he held a seat from 1909 until 1918.
Later Years
Walther vom Rath died on February 2, 1940, in Kronberg im Taunus. He was 83 years old at the time of his death. His final resting place is located at the Frankfurt Main Cemetery.
