Academic Transition to Volgograd
In 1981, Miklyukov relocated with his family to Volgograd, Russia. He joined the faculty of the newly established Volgograd State University, where he assumed the role of chairman for the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Theory of Functions. He remained a central figure within this institution for the duration of his career, balancing administrative duties with his research activities.

Miklyukov concentrated his scientific investigations on geometrical analysis, specifically focusing on zero mean curvature surfaces within Euclidean and pseudo-Euclidean spaces. His research examined the stability and instability of spacelike tubes and bands, as well as the behavior of branch points and their connections to Lorentz invariant surface characteristics. He also explored the Phragmén–Lindelöf and Ahlfors type theorems, applying these principles to differential forms and quasiregular mappings on Riemannian manifolds.
Professional Contributions and Recognition
Beyond his institutional duties, Miklyukov served as a visiting professor at Brigham Young University from 1998 until 2000. He authored several textbooks and technical monographs, including Introduction to Nonsmooth Analysis, Geometrical Analysis. Differential Forms, Almost-solutions, Almost Quasiconformal Mappings, and Tubes and Bands in Space-Time, the latter co-authored with Vladimir A. Klyachin. In 2009, he received the title of Honoured Science Worker of the Russian Federation.
