Olympic Competition

Ahmad first competed at the Olympic Games during the 2012 London event, participating in the mixed doubles category alongside Liliyana Natsir. The pair finished in fourth place. He returned to the Olympic stage for the 2016 Rio Games. Paired again with Natsir, the duo captured the gold medal by defeating Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying of Malaysia. Throughout this tournament, Ahmad and Natsir achieved a streak of straight-set victories, including a win against the top-ranked duo of Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei.

Beyond his Olympic success, Ahmad holds titles as a world champion from 2013 and 2017. His broader competitive record includes victories as an Asian champion and a national champion. His career participation spans various structures sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation, including the BWF Superseries, which featured 16 titles and 8 runner-up finishes, and the BWF Grand Prix, where he secured 10 titles and 3 runner-up spots. He also competed in the BWF World Tour, the Asian Games, and the SEA Games.
