Thet Htar Thuzar began her professional path in badminton at age seven, eventually rising to represent Myanmar on the global stage as a national champion. Born in 1999 in Yangon, she refined her skills across international circuits, balancing rigorous athletic training with academic responsibilities while living in Thailand and her home country.
Early Development and Training
Raised by parents who were both active badminton players, Thuzar picked up her first racket as a child. Her youth included a period in Thailand where her father worked as a coach, allowing her to balance sports and education. Upon returning to Myanmar in 2010, she earned honors in the Regions and States Tournament before joining the national team. Her introduction to international competition occurred at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games.

Thuzar secured her first international victory at the 2018 Egypt International. By 2019, she had reached eight finals, primarily within the African Badminton Circuit. She claimed six titles across Uganda, Kenya, Mauritius, Benin, Ivory Coast, and Egypt. Her 2019 season also saw semi-final appearances at the India International Challenge, the Maldives International, and the Myanmar International. That same year, she competed at the Badminton Asia Championships in Wuhan, China, and reached the quarter-finals of the Bulgarian Open.
Olympic and Global Competition
Following a training stint in Kuala Lumpur as part of the Asia Olympic Project, Thuzar competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held in 2021. She played in Group M, facing Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Lianne Tan. Later that year, she played in the 2021 BWF World Championships, falling in the round of 128 to Pai Yu-po. Throughout her career, she has represented Myanmar at numerous Southeast Asian Games, including the 2013, 2017, 2019, and 2023 editions. In 2025, she served as the Burmese flag bearer for the Games held in Thailand.
