Operating under the name Stunning Steve Austin, he captured the WCW World Television Championship and the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship twice each. He also secured success as part of the Hollywood Blonds alongside tag team partner Brian Pillman.

Joining the World Wrestling Federation in 1995, he initially performed as The Ringmaster. Following a repackaging, he embraced the Stone Cold persona.
