Securing second place in the inaugural season of the singing competition Kokhav Nolad in 2003 established Shiri Maimon as a prominent figure in the Israeli entertainment industry. Her career spans professional music, television presenting, and acting, bridging the gap between national reality television fame and international stage performance over the course of more than two decades.
Early Development and IDF Service
Born in Haifa in 1981 and raised in the Kiryat Haim neighborhood, Maimon began performing at age ten during the Festigal. She participated in the youth music group Tehila and served as a presenter on a community channel. Following her graduation from high school, she enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, where she performed as a singer with the Israeli Air Force Band.

Maimon transitioned into professional entertainment after her stint in the military, working in Eilat before entering the debut season of Kokhav Nolad. Shortly after the show concluded, she joined the cast of the daily youth program EXIT as a presenter, holding the role from late 2003 until October 2005.
Eurovision and Musical Evolution
In 2005, Maimon won the Kdam Eurovision selection process with the track HaSheket SheNish’ar, which she later performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. She finished the competition in fourth place. She subsequently received the Best Israeli Act award at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards and was nominated for Europe's Favorite Act. By 2024, she documented her musical output through a live album recorded with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Television Judging and Theatre
Beyond her recording career, Maimon spent several years as a judge on The X Factor Israel starting in 2013, appearing on the show for three seasons. She later moved to the network show Rising Star Israel in 2018. That same year, she expanded her professional portfolio by taking on the role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago.
