Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O'Neal is an American basketball player, born in Newark in 1972.

He plays mainly as a center. He has turned out for Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat. His honours include NBA All-Star Game Kobe Bryant Most Valuable Player Award, NBA Most Valuable Player Award, FIBA Hall of Fame, Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, New Jersey Hall of Fame and Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He also featured at the 1994 FIBA World Championship.

Shaquille O'Neal is widely regarded as one of the defining figures of basketball in his era, and remains the benchmark against which later competitors are measured.
