Shankar Dayal Sharma (1918–1999) was the President of India from 1992 to 1997. Sharma was born in Bhopal on 19 August 1918. He died in New Delhi on 26 December 1999, at the age of 81.
Sharma served as Member of the Lok Sabha (1971–1977), Governor of Maharashtra (1986–1987), Vice President of India (1987–1992) and President of India (1992–1997).
Sharma was educated at University of Allahabad (Master of Arts), University of Lucknow (Master of Laws) and Fitzwilliam College.
