Satoshi Ohno began his career in the entertainment industry in 1994, joining the Japanese agency Johnny & Associates at age 13. Before becoming a member of the boy band Arashi, he spent his formative years as a trainee in Kyoto, balancing his early professional commitments while withdrawing from Tokai University Bosei Senior High School to focus on stage performances.
Rise with Arashi
The formation of Arashi occurred on September 15, 1999, followed by their official CD debut on November 3, 1999. Ohno served as the group's lead vocalist and leader. During his tenure, he achieved a milestone in 2009 by becoming the first member of the band to release a solo single, a soundtrack titled Kumorinochi, Kaisei for the drama Uta no Onii-san. His musical contributions extended to solo concerts, including the 3104 tour, and choreography for both group and solo tracks like Zero-G and Top Secret.

Ohno's acting career commenced in 1997 with the stage play Kyo to Kyo. He participated in numerous productions, notably the Pū series between 2003 and 2008 and West Side Story alongside bandmates. His television debut took place in 1999 with V no Arashi. By 2008, he secured his first starring television role in the drama Maō, where he portrayed a lawyer seeking vengeance. In 2011, his versatility as an artist and actor in Kaibutsu-kun the Movie earned him a Men of the Year Award from GQ Japan.
Artistic Pursuits and Transition
In 2008, Ohno became the first artist from Johnny & Associates to hold a solo art exhibition titled Freestyle. His career interests expanded beyond the stage, encompassing illustration, painting, and choreography. Following a group hiatus, Ohno largely avoided public attention, focusing on private investments in real estate in Miyakojima, Okinawa, with plans for a tourist resort. In February 2026, he announced his departure from Starto Entertainment, effective May 31, 2026, alongside the conclusion of Arashi's group activities.
