Early Development and Transition to Russia
Introduced to sport during a family trip in Turkmenistan at age nine, Azmoun played for Oghab Gonbad, Shamoushak Gorgan, and Etka Gorgan. By fifteen, he joined the youth ranks of Sepahan, where he remained until 2013. That year, he transferred to Rubin Kazan, becoming the first Iranian player in the Russian Premier League. Azmoun debuted for the Iran national team in 2014 at nineteen.
