A maiden ODI century against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi served as a breakout moment for South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock, who quickly established himself as a dominant presence in international white-ball cricket. Since his professional debut in 2009, he has become a frequent fixture across global franchise leagues and all three formats of the international game.
Early Development
Raised in Johannesburg, de Kock attended King Edward VII School and honed his skills at the Old Eds club. His talent became apparent during the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he accumulated 284 runs. He debuted for the Gauteng senior team during the 2009–10 season at age 16, later joining the Highveld Lions for the 2012/13 domestic campaign.

De Kock entered international cricket in December 2012 against New Zealand. He gained recognition for his rapid scoring, becoming the fourth player to record three successive one-day centuries. By his 74th ODI match in February 2017, he surpassed Hashim Amla to become the fastest player to complete 12 centuries in the format. In December 2020, he captained the South African Test side for the first time during a series against Sri Lanka.
Franchise Career
His expansive franchise career began in the Indian Premier League with Sunrisers Hyderabad, followed by stints at Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Mumbai Indians. He later represented Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders, hitting 140 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022. He also played for Southern Brave in The Hundred, Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League, and Delhi Bulls in the T10 format.
