A Caesarean section at Siriraj Hospital on 29 April 2005 marked the arrival of Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, the seventh child of King Vajiralongkorn. As the only officially recognised son of the monarch, he occupies the position of heir presumptive to the throne of Thailand, despite historical uncertainties regarding royal succession laws and the shifting status of his siblings.
Early Development and Education
The prince spent his early years attending the Chitralada School located within the Dusit Palace. His educational path eventually moved abroad, where he enrolled at the Bavarian International School in Germany in 2015. Throughout his upbringing, he has developed proficiency in Thai, English, and German languages while adhering to the Theravāda Buddhist faith.

Take the IQ test →Succession Dynamics
The 1924 Palace Law of Succession prioritises the King's sons, yet the status of the royal line remains complex. In 1996, the King disowned four sons from his second marriage, leaving Dipangkorn as the primary recognised male descendant. However, constitutional amendments from 1974 allow for female succession. The death of Princess Bajrakitiyabha in June 2026 further altered the structure of the presumptive heirs.
Styles and Official Honours
His official styling evolved significantly during the reign of his father. From his birth until May 2019, he held the title Phra Chao Lanh Ther Phra Ong Chao. Since May 2019, he has been styled as His Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, with the specific designation Somdet Phra Chao Luk Ya Ther Chao Fa. His decorations include the Order of the Royal House of Chakri awarded in 2019, various classes of the Royal Cypher Medal, and the Knight Grand Cross of the Most Illustrious Order of Chula Chom Klao, received in 2025.
