Oghenekaro Peter Etebo debuted in the Nigeria Premier League on 14 April 2013, immediately marking his arrival by scoring a hat-trick against El-Kanemi Warriors. Early Career in Nigeria
Etebo began his professional journey with Warri Wolves in 2012. Throughout three seasons, he made 64 league appearances and recorded 23 goals. His development included recognition for the best goal of the 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League season against Bayelsa United, as well as being named the Most Promising Talent of the Year at the 2016 CAF Awards in Abuja.

In 2016, Etebo moved to the Portuguese club Feirense, contributing to their promotion into the Primeira Liga. His career subsequently involved several loan agreements and permanent transfers. He joined the English Championship side Stoke City in June 2018 for £6.35 million. Following his time in England, which included loan periods at Getafe and Galatasaray, he moved to the Greek side Aris in September 2022. He later joined the Turkish club Gençlerbirliği.
International Representation
Etebo earned international caps representing Nigeria, debuting on 27 July 2013 against Côte d'Ivoire. A significant highlight of his youth career was the 2015 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, where he finished as top scorer. He secured an Olympic bronze medal with the Nigerian U-23 team in 2016, notably scoring four goals in a single match against Japan. Furthermore, he participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, starting all three of Nigeria's group matches.
