Early Career and ADAC Formel Masters
Born in 1994 in Sigmaringen, Germany, Wehrlein began his karting career in 2003. By 2010, he progressed to the ADAC Formel Masters with Mücke Motorsport, finishing sixth in his debut season. He secured the championship title in 2011, achieving seven victories across circuits including Nürburgring and Lausitz. Wehrlein debuted in the DTM in 2013 at age 18 with Mücke Motorsport. In 2014, he moved to HWA, where he became the youngest driver in the series to claim pole position and a race win. He dominated the 2015 season, winning the title with two victories and five podiums. Following his Formula One stint, he returned to the DTM with HWA in 2018, finishing the season in eighth place before parting ways with Mercedes.
Formula One Entry and Tenure
Joining the Mercedes F1 Team as a reserve driver in 2014, Wehrlein participated in preseason testing before securing a seat with Manor Racing for the 2016 season. He recorded the team's only championship point of the year at the Austrian Grand Prix. In 2017, he drove for Sauber, scoring all five of the team's points that season, including an eighth-place finish in Spain, though he was not retained for 2018.

Wehrlein moved to Formula E with Mahindra for the 2018–19 season. He joined Porsche in 2021, winning the 2022 Mexico City ePrix.
