Early Development and Education

Before completing her degree, Posey left university to pursue acting professionally, securing a role in the daytime soap opera As the World Turns. Her 1993 film appearances included Coneheads, Joey Breaker, and Dazed and Confused. She gained significant recognition for her performance in the 1995 film Party Girl, followed by roles in projects such as The Daytrippers, Kicking and Screaming, and The House of Yes. Her work in the latter earned her a Special Recognition for Acting at the Sundance Film Festival.
Collaborative Ventures and Studio Work
Posey developed a long-standing creative partnership with director Christopher Guest, appearing in his improvised mockumentary films Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, For Your Consideration, and Mascots.
