Nils Liedholm

Swedish footballer and manager (1922-2007)

Nils Liedholm (1922–2007) was a Swedish footballer and manager. Liedholm was born in Valdemarsvik on 8 October 1922. He died in Cuccaro Monferrato on 5 November 2007, at the age of 85.

Liedholm competed in association football as a midfielder. His career took in Valdemarsviks IF (1938–1943), IK Sleipner (1943–1946), 60 appearances and 24 goals, IFK Norrköping FK (1946–1949), 48 appearances and 22 goals, AC Milan (1949–1961), 359 appearances and 81 goals and the Sweden men's national football team (1947–1958), 23 appearances and 12 goals. He had begun working by 1942.

Liedholm appeared at football at the 1948 Summer Olympics – men's tournament and the 1958 FIFA World Cup.

Valdemarsviks IF was founded in 1919.
