The year 2010 represented a peak in Langat's career as she remained undefeated in 1,500-metre races against the global elite, securing the Diamond League title for the distance. Her performance at the 2010 IAAF Continental Cup was marred by a collision with Hind Dehiba in the final straight; Langat fell and finished in last place. Despite this, she achieved a middle-distance double by winning both the 800 and 1,500-metre events at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Consequently, she received the title of Kenyan Sportswoman of the Year in December 2010.

Langat is recruited by the Kenya Air Force and holds a position based at the Moi Air Base in Nairobi. She is married to marathon runner Kenneth Cheruiyot.
