Nadiya Savchenko

Ukrainian politician

Nadiya Savchenko (born 1981) is an Ukrainian military officer, politician and aircraft pilot. Savchenko was born in Kyiv on 11 May 1981.

Savchenko held office as People's Deputy of Ukraine (2014–2019) and Representative of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (2015–2017). She worked in aerial warfare. The active career dates from 1997.

Savchenko received Order for Courage 3rd Class of Ukraine (2014), Hero of Ukraine, Order of the Gold Star, Light of Justice Award (2015) and Freedom Award (2015). She took part in Euromaidan. She was elected to Verkhovna Rada, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and 8th Verkhovna Rada. She was educated at Open International University of Human Development “Ukraine” and Ivan Kozhedub National University of the Air Force.

Euromaidan was held in Ukraine in 2010.
