Tenure as Prime Minister
In 2020, Muhyiddin assumed the premiership following a significant political crisis. His tenure was defined by the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, during which he enacted movement restrictions and a national vaccination program. He held the additional role of Malaysian National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs chairman from 2020 to 2021. He eventually stepped down in August 2021 after losing his parliamentary majority.
