Upon moving to Los Angeles, Duncan worked as a personal bodyguard for various high-profile entertainers, including Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, and The Notorious B.I.G. Following the 1997 death of the latter, he retired from security work to focus entirely on acting. His early screen appearances included minor roles as a bouncer in films such as Bulworth and A Night at the Roxbury.
Film and Television Success
Duncan gained widespread recognition for his role as John Coffey in 1999, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He later appeared in diverse projects ranging from the blockbuster The Scorpion King and the comic book adaptation Daredevil to the comedy Talladega Nights.
