Mattia De Sciglio entered the professional football landscape in 2011, joining the AC Milan first team after a decade in their youth system. An Italian full-back capable of operating on either defensive flank, he quickly established himself as a versatile squad member before moving to Juventus in 2017 to secure multiple domestic league and cup titles.
Early Career and Milan Debut
Raised in Milan, De Sciglio developed his skills at the Santa Chiara e San Francesco parish centre before joining Cimiano in 2001. By age ten, he moved to the AC Milan youth academy, where he played for nine seasons and won the Coppa Italia Primavera in 2010. Manager Massimiliano Allegri brought him into the first team for the 2011-12 season. He made his professional debut in a UEFA Champions League match against Viktoria Plzeň on 28 September 2011 and followed with his league debut against Chievo in April 2012.

De Sciglio signed with Juventus on 20 July 2017 for a fee of €12 million on a five-year contract. His first goal for the club arrived on 26 November 2017 in a victory over Crotone. During his time with the club, he contributed to a domestic double and consecutive Serie A titles. After a 2020-21 loan stint at Lyon, he returned to Juventus and signed an extension in June 2022 keeping him with the club until mid-2025. He was later loaned to Empoli in August 2024.
International Participation
Following appearances for Italy at the U19 and U21 levels, De Sciglio earned his senior international debut on 21 March 2013 against Brazil. His tournament record includes four matches at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and selection for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He also represented his country at UEFA Euro 2016, where his defensive work drew interest from other clubs.
