Bomer made his cinematic debut in the 2005 thriller Flightplan. He later appeared in the horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and the 2011 thriller In Time. His film work includes the Magic Mike series and The Nice Guys. On stage, he appeared in productions such as Villa America at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and the Broadway revival of The Boys in the Band, later reprising his role for the 2020 film adaptation.
Critical Acclaim and Recent Roles
In 2015, Bomer received a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as a closeted writer in the television film The Normal Heart. He subsequently joined the main cast of American Horror Story and played Larry Trainor in Doom Patrol. In 2023, he starred as a World War II veteran in the miniseries Fellow Travelers, a production for which he also served as an executive producer and received a Peabody Award.
