His performance earned him a move to Libourne Saint-Seurin in the Championnat National. Under coach Didier Tholot, he evolved into a central playmaker. During the 2005–06 season, his contributions helped the club secure promotion to Ligue 2, leading to him being named the league's Player of the Year.
Professional Success at Marseille
In June 2006, Valbuena signed a three-year contract with Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille. His debut occurred during the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup. During his tenure, he played in the UEFA Champions League. International Representation
