A decisive 118th-minute goal against Qatar SC in the 2024 Amir Cup final secured Mateus Uribe’s first silverware with Al Sadd. The Colombian central midfielder, born in Medellín on 21 March 1991, has maintained a professional career spanning multiple continents since debuting in the Argentine third division with Deportivo Español.
Early Development and Domestic Success
Uribe honed his skills within the youth academy of Envigado FC in his home country. After his initial professional experience in Buenos Aires, he returned to Colombia to play for Envigado, Deportes Tolima, and Atlético Nacional. During his tenure with Atlético Nacional, he achieved significant success, capturing the 2016 Copa Colombia and the 2017 Torneo Apertura title.
