Although he scored just 182 seconds into his Bundesliga debut against Borussia Dortmund, he struggled to maintain consistency in Germany. Following a season-long loan to PSV Eindhoven in 2010, injuries and shifting team priorities saw him make limited appearances for Hamburg, leading to his eventual departure.
