Early Development and Junior Success
Born in Stans in 1997, Odermatt established his competitive profile early through success at the Junior World Championships. In 2016 at Sochi, he secured a bronze in the super-G and a gold in the giant slalom. Following his junior achievements, he debuted in the World Cup during the March 2016 giant slalom finals in St. Moritz. His ascent continued with a first podium finish at Kranjska Gora in March 2019, followed by his maiden victory in a December 2019 super-G race held at Beaver Creek.

The 2021-22 season marked a turning point with seven race victories and his first overall title. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, he secured gold in the giant slalom by finishing 0.19 seconds ahead of Žan Kranjec. In the 2022-23 season, he tied the men's record of 13 wins in a single year, a benchmark previously reached by Ingemar Stenmark, Hermann Maier, and Marcel Hirscher.
