Tenure as Prime Minister
Upon his appointment as prime minister in July 2014, Dionne prioritized the implementation of the Plan Sénégal Emergent. He led the Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition during the parliamentary election of July 2017, securing a victory that led to his reappointment as prime minister in September 2017. Following the abolition of the prime minister position in May 2019, he transitioned to the role of Secretary General of the Presidency, a position he held until October 2020.
Final Years
In 2024, Dionne participated as a candidate in the Senegalese presidential election. During the campaign, he fell ill and was transported to the 13th arrondissement of Paris for medical treatment.
