Magdalena Abakanowicz was a Polish textile artist and sculptor, born in Falenty in 1930. She died in 2017.

Her honours include Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, Knight of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, Commander with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta and Golden Medal for Merit to Culture.
