Zakaryan maintained a thirteen-year tenure as a soloist with the symphony orchestra of Armenian TV and Radio between 1970 and 1983. Beyond secular broadcasts, she performed extensively within the choir of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the Holy See of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This dual involvement enabled her to build a reputation for interpreting both standard international opera pieces and traditional Armenian spiritual hymns.
Recognition and Legacy
Her body of work earned several high-level accolades during her lifetime, including the title of People's Artist of the Armenian SSR in 1972 and the Armenian SSR State Prize. She was also recognized as an Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR and received the Order of St. Mesrop Mashtots. Following her death in Yerevan on December 30, 1992, she was interred at the Saint Gayane Church.
