Beginning in 1849, Perrier served as the primary architect for the government of the Canton of Neuchâtel, a position he held for fourteen years. Following the conclusion of this tenure in 1863, he transitioned into municipal service, acting as the construction director for the city of Neuchâtel from 1864 until 1867.
Architectural Portfolio
His body of work includes diverse civic and private commissions. He completed the primary school known as Le Collège de la Promenade and designed the church of Les Brenets. His residential work featured the house constructed for Philippe Suchard. Additionally, he oversaw the restoration of historical sites, specifically the castles of Neuchâtel and Cormondrèche.
Personal Life and Lineage
Perrier was married to Cécile Dardel. His descendants went on to serve in prominent public roles, most notably his son, Federal Councillor Louis Perrier. His family line continued through his great-granddaughters, Denise and Raymonde Berthoud. He died in 1903 at the age of 85.
