Early Career and Eurovision
Born in 1963 in Överkalix and raised in Laxå, Engberg initially performed under her maiden name, Lotta Pedersen. Her early musical work included membership in the a cappella choir Trioala. She gained significant national attention after winning the 1987 Melodifestivalen with the track "Fyra bugg & en Coca Cola". Renamed "Boogaloo" for the international contest, the song secured 12th place at the Eurovision Song Contest 1987. She remained a persistent presence in Melodifestivalen, competing in 1984, 1988, 1990, 1996, 2002, and 2012.

Engberg married Anders Engberg, adopting his surname for her musical projects. The pair formed the group Lotta & Anders Engbergs orkester, which was active in Skara from 1989 until 1994. The band received a Grammis award in 1993 for their album Kärlek gör mig tokig, which reached number 33 on the Swedish album charts. Following her 1994 divorce, she established her own band, Lotta Engbergs, which performed until 2002. During her career, she also joined the trio Kikki, Bettan & Lotta and collaborated with artists such as Jarl Carlsson, Christer Sjögren, and Willie Nelson.
Television and Public Life
Beyond her musical output, Engberg established a consistent presence on Swedish television. She served as the host of the sing-along show Lotta på Liseberg and managed hosting duties for the game show Bingolotto between 2008 and 2011. In 2014, she participated as a celebrity contestant on the program Let's Dance. She currently resides in Alingsås.
