Winning the Eurovision Song Contest twice remains a singular achievement for Loreen, a Swedish artist who first gained national attention as a contestant on Idol 2004. By securing the top prize in both 2012 and 2023 with the tracks Euphoria and Tattoo, she became the first woman to claim the title on two separate occasions.
Early Career and Television Work
Born in 1983 in Danderyd, the singer moved to Västerås following her parents' divorce. Her initial entry into the Swedish public sphere occurred during the 2004 Idol competition, where she advanced through a wildcard selection to finish in fourth place. Following this exposure, she released the single The Snake alongside Rob'n'Raz in 2005. Transitioning behind the camera, she spent time working as a director and segment producer for various Swedish reality television productions, including Matakuten and Värsta pojkvänsakademin, while also taking on roles as a television presenter.
