Litton Das

Scoring 176 runs off 143 balls against Zimbabwe in 2020, Litton Das secured the highest individual innings by a Bangladeshi batsman in One Day International history. Since his national team debut in 2015, the Dinajpur-born right-handed batter and wicket-keeper has maintained a significant presence in international cricket, holding the highest Test batting average for a Bangladeshi wicket-keeper.

Early Development and Domestic Success

Das progressed through the Bangladesh youth structure, representing the Under-15s during the 2007–08 season and the Under-19s at the 2012 and 2014 World Cups. His professional ascent began in the 2014–15 National Cricket League, where he tallied 1,024 runs for the Rangpur Division. He continued this trajectory in the Bangladesh Premier League, contributing to back-to-back titles for the Comilla Victorians in 2021–22 and 2022–23.

International Career Milestones

After debuting against India in 2015, Das established himself across all three formats. His 2018 Asia Cup century against India earned him a man-of-the-match award, and his 94-run performance against the West Indies at the 2019 Cricket World Cup was instrumental in a successful chase. In 2022, he played a vital role in Bangladesh’s first Test victory against New Zealand at Bay Oval.

Franchise and T20 Achievements

Beyond Bangladesh, Das participated in the 2019 Caribbean Premier League for the Jamaica Tallawahs and joined the Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2023 Indian Premier League. In January 2025, playing for Dhaka Capitals, he recorded his first T20 century, which stands as the second-fastest century by a Bangladeshi player and contributed to a record team total of 254 runs.
